Donation presented to Warriors in the Field

ELKINS -- Pilgrim Commandery No. 21 Knights Templar recently donated $500 to Warriors in the Field.
Warriors in the Field is a charity organization, whose mission statement reads, "Our goal is to help veterans with their struggles of every day issues, and let them know they are fighting alone."
Founded in 2015, Warriors in the Field has provided more than 430 veterans an opportunity to experience a hunting or fishing outing that they might have otherwise never been able to experience.
Warriors in the Field has been endorsed by many veterans organizations. The organization's goal is to honor veterans and active duty military for their willingness to put their lives on the line to protect this great country from all enemies, both foreign and domestic
Dave Whittaker, the founder of Warriors in the Field, said, "This is our way of showing our appreciation to our veterans, and Warriors in the Field is dedicated to providing our veterans with help and support through our hunting and fishing programs and also by lending a helping hand to veterans that need small projects completed to make their life better."
The first outing in 2015 took place at Mountain Meadow Hunting Preserve in Greenville in Monroe County. Robert J. Vance and Joe "Danger" Gainer were the first two veterans to participate in an outing.
