ELKINS -- A Randolph County man is behind bars after being accused of a pair of assaults that took place during a two-day span.
Timothy Hedrick, 38, has been charged with a pair of felonies, malicious assault and burglary, stemming from a pair of incidents. He is currently lodged in the Tygart Valley Regional Jail on a $40,000 cash-only bond set by Randolph County Magistrate Tracy Harper.
According to a criminal complaint, at approximately 6:30 a.m. Sunday morning, Patrolman R.S. Goux of the Elkins Police Department responded to a call at the Burger King restaurant on the Beverly Five-lane to speak to a woman who said she had been stabbed the night before.
Upon arriving, Goux noticed the woman limping as she appeared to have an injury to her left leg, the complaint states. She appeared to have dried blood stains on her jeans. When asked about her injury, she told officers "that's where Timmy stabbed me."
The complaint states the woman told officers Hedrick had stabbed her in the leg at approximately 5:30 p.m. the day before. The victim told police that she entered her residence at Heavner Acres and Hedrick became very irate with her and accused her of having an affair with another male subject. That's when he stabbed her with a small knife.
According to the criminal complaint, the alleged victim showed officers threatening messages from Hedrick that he was sending while she was talking to police outside the restaurant. Goux advised her to immediately apply for a temporary protective order against Hedrick.
At approximately 9 a.m., a separate incident took place and troopers with the West Virginia State Police were dispatched by 911 for an active domestic at Aero Trailer Park.
According to a separate criminal complaint, Trooper C.D. Spessert observed two woman and one man in the trailer upon his arrival. Hedrick was allegedly on the floor with a woman who was bleeding from her head and screaming "help me," the complaint states.
Spessert observed the front door frame to be broken, and a bloody piece of paper and a pair of blue channel locks on the floor with blood on them, according to the complaint.
The woman, who was the same female who called police earlier, stated that Hedrick kicked the front door in and hit her in the head with a pair of channellocks pliers three or four times, the complaint states. She told police that Hedrick said he was going to kill her.
A witness on the scene stated that the trailer was her residence and that the alleged victim had come there after work, according to the complaint. She said Hedrick knocked on the door once and then kicked it in. She also told police that she saw Hedrick hit the alleged victim four times in the head with the pliers.
Hedrick told police he was wrestling with the alleged victim and they fell into the wall, causing her head to bleed. He denied hitting her with the pliers.
