ELKINS -- The Elkins "Elks" Babe Ruth League will be offering a special fundraising bingo event Saturday evening at the Phil Gainer Community Center.
More than $6,000 in cash and prizes will be up for grabs during one of the league's biggest fundraisers of the year. All proceeds taken in from the benefit will go to support Elkins "Elks" Babe Ruth League.
"All the money raised goes back into the field and to the youth playing in the league," Elkins "Elks" Babe Ruth Vice President William Thomas told The Inter-Mountain. "So we are hoping a lot of people will come out Saturday evening and help support our kids."
The event will feature 20 bingo games, with two special games worth $250 each, and one blackout game for $500. Those wishing to play the entire evening will be required to purchase just one package. Additional packets are available for a discounted price for those wanting to play more than one.
Food will be available during the event, including barbecue sandwiches and hotdogs with T-Mart chili. There will also be a silent and Chinese auction during the event. Tips will also be sold throughout the evening and there will be a 50-50 drawing.
Some of the silent auction items up for grabs include: game cameras, rhino blind, slate picture, a ton of pellets, Elkins Physical Therapy gym membership, living will package, 10 yards of mulch, handmade bench, YMCA membership, trout magnet fishing package, bouquets of flowers and gift certificates from local business and restaurants.
The Chinese auction will include several items including: propane fill ups, gloves, tactical knife, game camera, orthopedic chiropractic pillow and gift certificates from local business and restaurants.
