ELKINS -- The next free performance as part of the 2024 Live and Drive Concert Series will take place this evening at the Rotary Amphitheater in Elkins Town Square.
This year's events are once again sponsored by Our Town Inc. and the Mountain State Street Machines, who will jump start today's festivities with their weekly cruise-in beginning at 5 p.m.
Car enthusiasts around the area can check out a host of classic cars, hot rods and other unique automobiles when the cars from the cruise-in set up shop around Town Square.
Vendors will also be selling food and other items around the Amphitheater and will open the same time the cars arrive.
"There are always some really nice and unique vehicles for people to take a look at during the cruise-ins," Our Town volunteer Bobbi Trimboli told The Inter-Mountain. "The weather looks good for this week's event so we should have a good amount of cars on display."
This week's concert will be the third of the season and will feature Cross Town Traffic, who will take the Amphitheater stage behind the Elkins Railyard Depot at 6 p.m.
This year's concert series will feature many different genres of music, with performers coming from as far away as Cincinnati, Boston and New York.
The next date on the Live and Drive Concert Series will be on June 15 when Buffalo Wabs & The Price Hill Hustle come to town.
After the show on June 15, the series will return for its three-day Fourth of July celebration beginning on June 29 when the Air National Guard Band of the Northeast performs.
Ryan Cain and the Ables will play the second night when the cars begin to arrive for the annual Fourth of July Car Show on Friday, June 30. The finale of the weekend will feature Rick K's Road Trip and a fireworks display on Saturday, July 1.
