Business celebrates ribbon cutting

ELKINS -- Professional Care Services and Professional Care Case Management held an official ribbon cutting ceremony after three years of business in its current location, on Main Street, and announced a Summer Bash event on July 15.
The in-home care and case management facility's ceremony with refreshments was attended by members of the community. Director Wendy Hamrick cut the ribbon surrounded by staff, members of the community, including representatives from Pioneer Insurance Agency and the Randolph County Commission, and representatives for Gov. Jim Justice and U.S. Rep. Alex Mooney.
Hamrick and staff received congratulations from Justice, courtesy of Regional Representative Lynn Phillips.
"On behalf of Gov. Justice, welcome to the community," said Phillips. "And for the services you provide for Randolph and the surrounding counties, he would like to say thank you very much for your dedication."
Hamrick also received a letter from Mooney, presented by Rhett Dusenbury, a representative of Mooney.
"I would like to extend a special thank you to all who have worked tirelessly to create Professional Care Service Organization, which through focused service has fulfilled the mission of helping West Virginia citizens with their healthcare needs," the letter read. "The West Virginia community is very fortunate to have a healthcare organization that has always been ready and willing to serve the citizens' healthcare needs."
Hamrick was very grateful to her staff for all their hard work over the years.
"This group of office staff that we have here is just wonderful and that's key to giving good care," said Hamrick. "And we have an abundance of very good caregivers and I appreciated them so, so much."
Professional Care Services offers in-home personal care, homemaker services, Medicaid waivers, veteran's programs, private pay programs, and in-home care nurses. Professional Care Case Management services aged and disabled waivers and a traumatic brain injury program.
The current location of Professional Care Services opened its doors in 2020 on the cusp of the COVID-19 pandemic. Due to the pandemic, an official opening ceremony was never held. The organization later opened Professional Care Case Management. There are plans to expand Case Management and move it to a second building next to Care Services.
"There's a lot of people who still don't know that we're here," said Hamrick. "So, we're trying to get ourselves out there, to let people know that we are here and this is what we do."
One way they are trying to get themselves out there is the upcoming Summer Bash event they are holding on July 15. The event will be held at Professional Care Services and Professional Care Case Management from noon to 5 p.m. The Bash will involve a cornhole tournament, dance performances, food trucks, and live music including Michael Bonnett & the River's Edge and the classic rock band Rescue.
