Randolph County Sheriff Rob Elbon posted on social media Thursday evening that escaped inmate Denver Bennett is in custody. According to Elbon, police units from U.S. Marshal Service, Upshur Sheriff’s Office, Randolph Sheriff’s Office, West Virginia State Police and West Virginia State Parole responded to the Upper Childers Run area where units searched nearby structures and found Bennett hiding in a camper under some covers and bags. Bennett was being transported to Mt Olive Correctional Center. According to officials, a woman, Beverly Beckner, was also arrested for helping Bennett while he was on the run. Bennett will be arraigned on Randolph County escape charges.
