ELKINS -- Mountain State Forest Festival Director General Jon Morgan announces applications for participation in the 2023 Grand Feature Parade are being accepted.
The Mountain State Forest Festival is one of the state's largest, oldest, and grandest festivals, playing host to over 100,000 festival patrons and visitors annually. The theme for this year's festival is "Endlessly Wild & Wonderful."
The 85th edition of the Grand Feature Parade will be presented by Polino Contracting. The parade's Division Sponsors are Greenfield Cabinetry, MegaCorp Logistics, and WVU Medicine United Hospital Center.The Grand Feature Parade is approximately 2.5 miles long lasting approximately 2-hours, featuring bands, floats, special units, twirlettes, and dignitaries.
The Grand Feature Parade will be held Saturday, Oct. 7, with line-up starting at 10 a.m.The Antique/Classic Car Parade is set to begin at 1 p.m., followed by the Industrial Truck/Equipment Parade at 1:15 p.m., and finally, the Grand Feature Parade will step off at 1:30 p.m.
There will be signage located along 11th Street and instructions in the Industrial Park for participants to follow.
Parade applications can be found on the Mountain State Forest Festival's website, www.forestfestival.com, along with the parade's rules and regulations.
Completed forms should be mailed to the Mountain State Forest Festival Office or scan and email to: MSFFgrandfeatureparade@gmail.com.
Applicants wishing to appear in The Inter Mountain's printed parade line-up must have completed forms turned in by Friday, Sept. 22.
The festival office encourages early registration, if possible. Applicants will only be notified if there is a problem with their registration form. Please refrain from calling the Mountain State Forest Festival office for line-up information or to see if your entry has been accepted; the information will not be available by phone.
Participants should check in at the tent area in the Southern States parking lot on parade day for line-up details. If participants arrive on parade day to participate, the entry will be welcomed and added to the end of the final division. The Mountain State Forest Festival thanks all participants for understanding the importance of pre-registration.
The festival office is receiving numerous calls regarding parade seating. The MSFF does not sell chairs but is happy to spread the word on our social media and website on where to find seats. If your organization, business or nonprofit is selling chairs, please call the festival office, message on social media, or email contact@forestfestival.com with location, pricing, etc. for the chairs available.
The 85th edition of the Mountain State Forest Festival with the theme "Endlessly Wild & Wonderful" will take place from Saturday, Sept. 30, through Sunday, Oct. 8.
