BELINGTON -- A much-loved holiday tradition will return this weekend to raise funds for two local nonprofit organizations.

The 12th annual Turkey Trot is set to kick off Saturday morning at the Belington Wellness Center.

The event will benefit the Heart and Hand House and Belington Presbyterian Church, organizations that give back to the Barbour County communities.

"We are super-excited to host the Turkey Trot event again this year," said Kim Bolton, director of the Belington Wellness Center Director. "It is an honor to help the Heart & Hand House and Belington Presbyterian Church as they serve hundreds of residents during Thanksgiving and throughout the year.

"We hope to see many participate in this opportunity to help others in our wonderful community."

The Turkey Trot's 5K run/walk will begin at the Belington Wellness Center, located at 70 N. Sturmer Street, and will follow a mostly flat course through Belington.

The Turkey Trot is open to walkers and runners of all ages. Participants will be divided by age, as follows: 10 and under, 11 to 14, 15 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, and 70 and up.
