Rosenau throws 5 TD passes in 46-6 playoff win

PARSONS -- Senior Ethan Rosenau had five touchdown passes as No. 2 Tucker County coasted to a 46-6 win over No. 15 Midland Trail Friday night in Class A first-round play under foggy conditions at R.H. Armstrong Memorial Field at Class of 1984 Alumni Stadium.

A 70-yard strike from Rosenau to Maddox Anderson just two minutes into the game set the tone for the Mountain Lions, who are now 11-0.

Tucker County scored on all four of its first-half possessions as Rosenau had scoring passes to Blaike Adams from 20 and 40 yards out and hit Anderson from 35 yards as the Mountain Lions led 32-0 at halftime.

Jared Reall busted loose for a 16-yard run and Rosenau connected with Garrett Wilfong on a 10-yard TD to extend the lead to 46-0 with 3:34 left in the third quarter.

The Patriots (5-6) got a 6-yard run by David Moore with 8:25 left in the game.

Rosenau was 13 of 17 passing for 259 yards, with Anderson hauling in six passes for 155 yards, and Adams five for 93.

Reall rumbled to 135 yards on 17 totes.

Thad Brown was 16 of 26 passing for 144 yards for Midland Trail. Preston Compton had eight receptions for 58 yards.

Tucker County will host No. 7 Tug Valley in the quarterfinals, with the date and game time to be announced on Sunday.
