ERCC honors employees for service

ELKINS — Elkins Rehabilitation & Care Center recently recognized 28 employees and their combined 474 years of exceptional service.
ERCC recognized the employees with their 11th annual Employee Recognition Appreciation Awards.
Ten employees received a custom wooden heart plaque made by local artisan Mike Pizzino of Almost Heaven Woodcraft of Beverly.
Long-time employee Johnny Bodkin, who has worked as at ERCC for 54 years, was one of the many employees recognized at the event. The environmental service aide was awarded a $300 bonus, a new lapel pin, and a custom plaque for his over half a century of service.
“It takes the combined effort of our entire team to be able to provide complete and compassionate care,” said Tara Shaver, ERCC Administrator. “We couldn’t accomplish this goal without our staff.”
Employees who have worked at ERCC for over 25 years of service received a cash bonus, a plaque and a pin.
ERCC employees who had reached milestones of five, 10, 15 and 20 years received a cash bonus, a certificate and a pin at the event.
“We have a wonderful staff at ERCC that are second to none”, Shaver said. “Our annual employee appreciation awards remind our employees that they are valued.”
In all, ERCC distributed 11 plaques, 17 certificates, 28 pins and $4,490 in cash awards to employees.
The total years at ERCC for all 149 of their current employees is 1,057 years.
“ERCC is a family, and our employees are a vital part of that family,” Shaver added.
ERCC is a 111-bed, non-profit, short and long-term skilled and intermediate care and rehabilitation facility located in Elkins.
A wide range of care and rehabilitation services is provided at the facility by more than 150 full-time and part-time employees.
