For more than three decades, Lions clubs around the globe have been sponsoring this very special art contest in schools and youth groups. Creating peace posters gives children everywhere the chance to express their visions of peace, and inspire the world through art and creativity.

To a young person, a dream isn't just a wish, hope or desire -- it's a path, a goal, an ambition. But achieving that dream takes hard work. So this year, the Lions clubs asked young people to show how they'll turn their dream of a peaceful world into reality.

This contest has been held annually for three decades.

Lions Clubs International is the world's largest service club organization, with more than 1.4 million members in approximately 46,000 clubs in more than 200 countries and geographical areas around the world.

Her poster will go on to compete at the next level. The Elkins Lions Club asks the community to join us in wishing her good luck and congratulations.

The Elkins Lions Club also used the Dec. 11 meeting to celebrate the holiday season with a yankee gift swap.

The Elkins Lions Club meets the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month at 6:15 p.m. at the Steer Steakhouse on the Elkins Five-Lane.
