BUCKHANNON -- Eight candidates will be on the ballot running for three Buckhannon City Council seats during the Municipal Election on May 14.

Incumbents Jack Reger and Pam Bucklew have filed to run for re-election to City Council. The third incumbent whose seat is up this year, C.J. Rylands, did not file to run for re-election.

The six other candidates to file to run in the non-partisan City Council race include John Antolini, Laura Foulks, Scott Randall, Mike Ruffing, Jim Valenson and Robert Zuliani.

Buckhannon City Council seats do not represent individual districts, but the entire city. Therefore, the top three vote-getters in the May primary will be elected to City Council.

Buckhannon Mayor Robbie Skinner will run unopposed for re-election.

The final day for candidates to withdraw from the election will be Tuesday, Feb. 13.

The drawing for position on the ballot will be Feb. 20 at 9 a.m. in the County Clerk's Office of the Upshur County Courthouse.

The voting locations for the May Buckhannon City Election will include; Buckhannon Academy Elementary School (Precinct 8), Buckhannon City Hall (Precinct 9), Fred W. Eberle Technical Center (Precinct 12), and Buckhannon Academy Elementary School (Precinct 14).
