ELKINS -- For the protection of pedestrians and motorists, Davis Avenue will be closed between Second and Third Streets for several weeks beginning Monday, Jan. 8, a City of Elkins press release stated Friday afternoon.
Both lanes of Davis Avenue will be closed Monday through Saturday, from 7 a.m.-5 p.m., so that contractors can safely utilize a large boom lift to complete the cornice replacement on the historic Tygart Hotel, which is currently under renovation.
This work is expected to be completed in approximately three weeks' time, dependent on weather, subcontractor scheduling changes, and/or other factors, the City of Elkins press release states.
