PARSONS Eight candidates have filed to run for Tucker County government offices in the May 14 primary election.
Incumbent Fred Davis, a Republican from Thomas, has filed to run for the Tucker County Commission seat representing the Blackwater District.
Incumbent Tucker County Prosecuting Attorney Savannah Hull Wilkins, a Democrat from Davis, has filed to run for re-election.
Incumbent Assessor Greg Stevens, a Republican from Parsons, has filed to run for the office in the May primary. He was appointed to the position in July 2023, after the retirement of J. Chris Michael.
Incumbent Division 1 Magistrate Riley Barb and incumbent Division 2 Magistrate Brian Wilfong have both filed for re-election.
Incumbent Daniel "Chopper" Evans from the Cheat River District and incumbent Mae Teter from the Blackwater District have both filed for re-election to the Tucker County Board of Education.
Incumbent James "Jim" Nester Sr., from Parsons, has filed to run for re-election to the Conservation District Supervisor seat.
The candidate filing period will remain open until Saturday, Jan. 27.
The primary election is scheduled for May 14. Early voting will take place from May 1 to May 11.
The general election will be held on Nov. 5, with early voting scheduled for Oct. 23 through Nov. 2.
