CHARLESTON -- On Friday, the House of Delegates approved a supplemental appropriation of two million dollars to WVU Rockefeller Science Institute to expand groundbreaking research on ultrasound treatments for Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and other diseases.
The House also passed House Concurrent Resolution 64, which affirms West Virginia's support for Texas in her standoff with the federal government at the U.S.-Mexico border.
The Resolution was authored by Delegate Pat McGeehan, R-Hancock, and passed unanimously.
Among the members who voted that day was WV Democrat Party Chairman Mike Pushkin, D-Kanawha.
Delegate Elias Coop-Gonzalez, R-Randolph, said, "It speaks volumes that even the liberal democrats in the legislature voted to stand with Texas.
"No one can deny anymore the crisis at the Southern Border and the dereliction of the Biden administration. If something doesn't happen soon, we won't have a country anymore."
