21 indicted by Barbour grand jury

PHILIPPI -- A Barbour County Grand Jury returned 21 indictments for the May 2024 term.

Brandon Isaiah Harris, of Belington, has been indicted on a total of 51 felonies.

He is accused of  having sexual contact with a juvenile multiple times between January and September 2023.

Harris is indicted on 18 counts of first-degree sexual abuse, 21 counts of sexual abuse by a parent, guardian or custodian, three counts of first-degree sexual assault, five counts of use of minors in filming sexually explicit conduct and four counts of child erotica.

Brian Joseph Hardy, of Moatsville, was indicted on one count of first-degree arson, eight counts of attempted murder, two counts of cruelty to animals, and causing injuries during an arson-related crime.

Orlandis Funderburke, Jr., of Philippi, is indicted on two counts of terroristic threats, two counts of assault on a healthcare worker and four counts of battery on a law enforcement officer.

Travis Gene Hite, of Belington, was indicted on one count of fleeing in a vehicle in a manner showing a reckless indifference to the safety of others, and one count of child neglect creating risk of death or serious bodily injury.

Brandon Sipe, of Belington, is indicted on one count of child neglect creating risk of death or serious bodily injury and one count of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Brenda Upton, of Buckhannon, is indicted after police observed the conditions two children were living in.

Upton is indicted on two counts of child neglect creating risk of death or serious bodily injury. She is also indicted on one count of burglary.

James Nice, of Tunnelton, is indicted on two counts of driving under the influence causing serious bodily injury.

Adam Ray Isner, of Elkins, is indicted on one count of fleeing in a vehicle in a manner showing a reckless indifference to the safety of others, one count of possession of a controlled substance and one count of unlawful restraint.

Matilda Ann Barb, of Belington, is indicted on one count of fraud by access device.

Gary Lynn Cale, of Belington, was indicted on one count of failure to register or provide notice of change of sex offender registry information - first offense.

Joseph Eugene England, of Belington, was indicted on one count of burglary.

Nicholas Ryan Jones, of Belington, is indicted on one count of possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver.

Gary Lee Loudin, of Bridgeport, is indicted on one count of financial exploitation of an elderly person.

John Michael Matura Jr., of Philippi, was indicted on one count of driving while license revoked for driving under the influence of alcohol - third offense; one count of possession of a controlled substance; and one count of prohibited person in possession of a firearm.

Tiffany Amanda Mauller, of Philippi, was indicted on one count of failure to appear.

Hayden Joseph Poe, of Junior, was indicted on one count of two counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, and one count of prohibited person in possession of a firearm.

Heather Rae Poe, of Belington, was indicted on one count of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.

Tyler Paul Shipp, of Tunnelton, was indicted on one count of failure to appear, and one count of fleeing in a vehicle in a manner showing a reckless indifference to the safety of others.

Timothy Matthew Starkey Jr., of Phillipi, was indicted on one count of burglary.

Thomas Bradford Swiger Jr., of Philippi, was indicted on one count of counterfeiting.

Drayvn Christopher White-Grow, of Philippi, was indicted on one count of failure to appear.

Arraignments will be held on June 21, beginning at 9 a.m. in the Barbour County Courtroom. All defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
