Man charged with making terrorist threats at pizza shop
Robles
ELKINS – A Huntington man was arrested and charged with a felony after an incident at a pizza restaurant in Elkins.
Darien Lee Robles, 27, has been charged with threats of terroristic acts. He is being held in the Tygart Valley Regional Jail on a $10,000 bond, set by Randolph County Magistrate Ben Shepler.
According to the criminal complaint, prepared by Patrolman C.J. Elmore of the Elkins Police Department, on Monday, officers responded to the Papa Johns restaurant for a report of “a man threatening employees and customers.”
Employees told police that Robles had entered the restaurant and “started harassing employees and customers alike,” the complaint states. They said Robles was asked to leave, and he said he was going to “shoot and fight multiple members who work here.”
They said as Robles left he was “still yelling at employees and beating on windows,” according to the complaint. Robles also allegedly got into employees’ vehicles and took “cigarettes, money and attempted to trade drugs for food.”
Officers were told Robles “has been here on numerous occasions to solicit and harass customers and employees,” the complaint states.
Elmore wrote, “It is this officer’s belief that Darien Robles did knowingly and willfully threaten to commit a terrorist act in an attempt to intimidate the civilian population” at the restaurant.
