ELKINS -- The state American Legion Department Auxiliary President will serve as the guest speaker at the 2024 Veterans Day dinner at the American Legion H.W. Daniels Post 29.
Laura Clark will offer the key note address during the annual event set for Saturday, Nov. 9.
Clark is a third-generation member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Huntington Unit 16, and has been a member since 1986. Her eligibility is through her grandfather, Glenn Hogan, a veteran of the Korean War.
Clark has held many offices and chairmanships on the Unit, District, and Department level. On the Unit level, she has held the positions of Junior Activities Chairman, Chaplain, and currently is the Unit Vice President.
On the District level, she has served as Chaplain, Vice President, and District President. She has served as Department Chaplain, Department 2nd Vice President, and Department 1st Vice President as well has held several chairmanships and served on many committees.
Clark is employed by Jacaruso Enterprises as a Hotel Regional Director of Sales and has been in the hospitality industry since 1998. She is an active member of Madison Avenue Christian Church, and volunteers and advocates for several organizations in her community.
She is married to Brandon Clark and has three children, Trae, Katie Beth and Alexander. She is also a "dog mom" to Henry and Eliza.
The American Legion Auxiliary is comprised of male and female spouses, grandmothers, mothers, sisters, and direct and adopted female descendants of members of The American Legion, and stands as a pillar of support within more than 8,000 local communities in the USA and abroad.

The social hour for the Veterans Day Dinner will begin at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 9, with dinner at 6:30 p.m. Veterans will eat for free, and additional tickets are on sale. RSVP is only until Nov. 2 and no tickets will be sold at the door.
The menu for this year's dinner is salad, baked steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, mixed vegetables, roll, desert and drink.
