ELKINS — An Elkins convenience store sold more than $100,000 worth of winning West Virginia Lottery tickets during the Mountain State Forest Festival last week – including a $50,000 winner.

Lynn’s Discount Beer and Tobacco Outlet, also known as Par Mar #84, located on Randolph Avenue, sold a total of six tickets worth at least $1,000 each during the MSFF.

“We always have the lottery office here for the Forest Festival,” store manager Nancy Collins told The Inter-Mountain Wednesday. “It is a tremendous event. We do it for the customers and they love it.”

Collins said she has been employed at the store for close to 20 years. She said the West Virginia Lottery Office has came for every festival during that time.

“We probably sell close to a half a million dollars’ worth of tickets during the festival,” she said.

The biggest ticket sold was a $50,000 “Viva Las Keno” ticket, purchased by a customer identified as Delores S., West Virginia Lottery officials announced Tuesday.

In addition to the $50,000 Viva Las Keno winner, the store also sold a $20,000 “XXXXX” ticket winner to Gary H.; and a $30,000 “Bonus Blowout” winner to Heather B.

Three of the six big winners purchased at the store last week were bought by the same customer, Adrian S., who purchased a $10,000 “Dragons Hoard” winner; a $2,000 “Mega Hot” winner; and a $1,000 “Dragons Hoard” winner.

Collins said Lynn’s always does well with selling lottery tickets. She said the store consistently ranks in the top three for tickets sold in the state. Lynn’s has seen some other large prizes from scratch-off tickets in the past, including a $75,000 and a $20,000 winner, she said.

No tickets sold at Lynn’s had been listed on the West Virginia Lottery winners page in 2024 prior to this week.

Starting at $3.92/week.
