SNOWSHOE — A 2-year-old drowned during a field trip to Snowshoe Resort, officials said.

The girl was pronounced dead after being discovered in an indoor pool, West Virginia State Police officials said.

A chaperone noticed the child was missing from a field trip to the resort, police said.

After a search, the girl was found in about 15 minutes, and transported to Pocahontas County Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, officials said.
