Police seize drugs, $30K in cash in Belington

BELINGTON – The Belington Police Department seized drugs and $30,000 in cash from a residence Saturday, police said.

The BPD “executed a search warrant on a residence suspected to be involved in the distribution of illegal substances,” according to a press release on Sunday.

“The search warrant resulted in the seizure of suspected methamphetamine, fentanyl, THC wax mixed with methamphetamine and cocaine,” the release states.

Police also seized a scale and more than $30,000 in cash, officials said.

“The final weight and identity of the substances will be determined at the West Virginia State Police crime lab,” the release states.

No names of anyone arrested in the search were released Sunday.
