Community Easter events abound during the next two weeks

ELKINS — A host of area organizations have Easter events scheduled over the next two weeks, with five Easter egg hunts scheduled for today and Sunday. 

Four of this weekend’s events are set for today, beginning with the annual Easter egg hunt at 4-H Camp Pioneer, which will run from 10 a.m. until noon at the facility, located on Kings Run Road. 

The second hunt in Randolph County today will take place at the Tygart Valley Fire Company in Dailey.

A craft show will be offered during the event, which is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. An obstacle course will be set up for kids wanting to try their hand at being a firefighter.

The Belington Board of Parks will host an Easter egg hunt today at 10 a.m. at the Civic Center, while Nay Chapel and the Ellamore Volunteer Fire Department will offer an event from 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at Nay Chapel. In the case of inclement weather, the event will be relocated to the Ellamore Fire Department.

On Sunday, the annual Kroger Easter egg hunt will be held at the store’s location at Skyline Plaza in Buckhannon. Lineup for the hunt will begin at 2:30 p.m. at the porch in front of the store. The event will include games, a coloring contest, and photo opportunities with the Easter Bunny.

On Friday, April 18, three Easter egg hunts are set to take place in Randolph County, including at the Beverly Heritage Center, where the Elkins-Randolph Public Library is hosting an egg hunt from 10 a.m. until noon. Crafts will be for sale inside following the hunt.

American Legion Post 29 will host an Easter party on the same day, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Calain Hall, while Autumn Lake Healthcare in Crystal Springs is offering an Easter egg hunt at 5:30 p.m.

Several activities are scheduled for the following day on Saturday, April 19, including the annual Elkins Parks and Recreation’s Easter Egg Hunt at the Elkins City Park. That event will get underway at 10 a.m.

The Dry Fork Recreation Center will host an Easter egg hunt an hour later at 11 a.m. There will be games, prizes, concessions and a bake sale during the event. 

Later the same afternoon, an Easter egg hunt with more than 5,000 eggs will be offered at the Montrose Community Building. The event is scheduled for 1 p.m.  

Two more events cap off the activities for Saturday, April 19. Maniac Mountain on the Teter Road in Buckhannon will host a hunt beginning at 2 p.m.

The event will feature multiple age groups at the hunt, with 10,000 eggs to be hidden and dropped. There will also be bounce houses, face painting and games.

Also at 2 p.m. that day, the Lions Club of Philippi will host an Easter egg hunt at the Little League Park in Philippi.

There will also be an an Easter egg hunt at the Beverly Methodist Church at 2 p.m. on April 19..
