BEVERLY -- Historic Beverly Preservation Inc. will host a celebratory soiree on Saturday, May 17 to mark 10 years since the completion of the Beverly Heritage Center.
"The soiree is an annual fundraising event for us," Beverly Heritage Center Executive Director Eleanor Renshaw told The Inter-Mountain.
"This year we are actually celebrating 10 years since the ribbon-cutting event for the Heritage Center.
"We're looking forward to celebrating this major anniversary with a party this year," Renshaw said.
The event will begin Saturday with an hor d'oeuvres and beverage hour, featuring the chamber music of Trio Acoustica at 6 p.m.
At 7 p.m., a dinner of beef complete with home-crafted sides and desserts will be served. Vegetarians will enjoy ratatouille as a non-meat entree.
Throughout the evening, guests are invited to view a special show of images from the construction, restoration, and rehabilitation of the Heritage Center while they explore new and established exhibits throughout.
There is a cost for tickets to the event.
The Beverly Heritage Center is operated through a partnership between Historic Beverly Preservation Inc. and Rich Mountain Battlefield Foundation Inc.
While the four historic buildings that make up the Heritage Center have been open for interpretation in some fashion for over 25 years, it was May of 2015 that the two organizations held a ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the final stages of restoration.
