New business opens in downtown Elkins

ELKINS -- Lukestone Legacy held its grand opening and ribbon cutting on Saturday, bringing wine, gifts and new events to the community.
The ribbon cutting ceremony for the new wine lab was held on May 17 and attended by over 30 friends, family, community leaders, members of the Elkins-Randolph County Chamber of Commerce and wine enthusiasts alike.
Located at 220 Davis Avenue, Lukestone Legacy is owned and operated by Kenna and Shelton Barger. The wine lab, named in honor of the Barger's children, "offers a cozy, curated space for wine lovers and community gatherings," according to a statement from the Elkins-Randolph County Chamber of Commerce.
"Our vision is much more than providing a retail space for wine," Kenna Barger said in a released statement. "We seek to share our love of wine via events that highlight our enthusiasm for the arts, games, teaching, learning and strengthening community connections. We want to live out our tagline for The Lab at Lukestone Legacy: Where every sip tells a story."
Lukestone Legacy invites customers to "relax, connect and explore new flavors with different wines, wine bags and gift options. The Lab also offers customers experiences such as monthly Book and Bottle boxes paired with a Wine and Words event, Cork and Craft events, Grapes and Games sessions and more.
"We are thrilled to welcome Lukestone Legacy not only to the downtown business district but also as a new Chamber Partner," said Elkins-Randolph County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Karrah Washington in a released statement. "Kenna's vision for a community-centered wine space is exactly the kind of entrepreneurial spirit we're excited to support."
Kenna Barger thanked the Chamber in the released statement as well and later added on Lukestone Legacy's social media that they love the Elkins community and feel blessed to be a part of a "special little place in Appalachia."
"We sincerely thank the Elkins-Randolph County Chamber of Commerce and the community for joining us in celebrating the Grand Opening of Lukestone Legacy," Kenna Barger said. "Your support embodies the spirit of Elkins, and together, we're excited to unleash passion and cultivate a vibrant legacy."
