BUCKHANNON -- An Upshur County man is facing felony and misdemeanor charges after allegedly strangling and assaulting his mother.
Timothy Aaron Tenney, 37, is charged with strangulation, a felony, and domestic battery, a misdemeanor. He is currently being held at the Tygart Valley Regional Jail on a $20,000 cash-only bond for the felony and a $5,000 cash-only bond for the misdemeanor.
According to the criminal complaint filed by Corporal Tyler A. Gordon with the Upshur County Sheriff's Office, on May 21, Gordon responded to St. Joseph's Hospital regarding a report that a woman "had been attacked by her adult son."
Once at the hospital, Gordon spoke with the alleged victim and, according to the complaint, observed injuries to her arms, left hand, head and neck. The victim informed Gordon that her son, identified as Tenney, "attacked her as she pulled in her driveway."
The alleged victim told Gordon that Tenney "put her in a choke hold from behind, beginning to cut off her breathing and leaving the red area on her neck, then began punching her in the head, striking her head and hand," the complaint states.
According to the complaint, the attack was recorded by a video surveillance camera at the alleged victim's residence.
