Elkins Long John Silver’s temporarily closed

ELKINS – Many area residents were left wondering what had happened after noticing that the Long John Silver’s restaurant located in the Tygart Valley Mall has been shut down the past several days.
Those looking to eat lunch and dinner at the restaurant were disappointed the entire weekend, and on Monday "closed" signs continued to drape the doors and at the restaurant’s drive-thru.
Long John Silver’s manager Mike Arbogast told The Inter-Mountain on Monday that the restaurant had been temporarily closed due to issues with the computer system.
“Our entire system went down on Thursday and we have been working on getting it up and running ever since,” Arbogast said. “When they remodeled the restaurant, they put a new system in and it pretty much has a hand in everything that we do. We have some people working on it today and I have my fingers crossed we will be back open later this evening or in the morning (Tuesday). We apologize to our customers for any inconvenience.”
The Elkins Long John Silver’s was completely remodeled at the end of 2023 and the start of 2024, as the original structure, which opened in 1976, was demolished to make room for the new building.
The very first Long John Silver's opened in 1969. The chain currently has 568 restaurants in the United States, and has restaurants in 30 countries outside of the U.S.
