DAVIS – A Harman man is behind bars after reportedly claiming to be Jesus Christ during an alleged sexual assault in Tucker County.
Emmanuel Huffman has been charged with second-degree sexual assault. He is being held in the Tygart Valley Regional Jail on a $70,000 cash-only bond.
According to a criminal complaint from the Tucker County Magistrate Court, West Virginia State Police was dispatched to the town of Davis on Nov. 15 of last year after a caller told officers she wanted to report a sexual assault that had happened the previous night.
After arriving at the caller’s location, police and advocates for women’s aid began questioning the alleged victim regarding the incident, the complaint states. The caller told police that she heard the front door of her residence come open and when she got out of bed she visually identified her alleged assailant as Huffman.
According to the complaint, Huffman entered the residence without permission or consent and began coming at her while removing his pants. The alleged victim advised that she attempted to run around Huffman, but that he grabbed her by the hair on the back of her head, pulled her onto the couch in the living room and sexually assaulted her.
The complaint states that the alleged victim told police that Huffman got her to her bedroom and proceeded to put her in her bed. In doing so, the caller told police that she smacked her head on the headboard, becoming dazed to the point she believed she received a concussion.
According to the complaint, the alleged victim told police that Huffman continued to sexually assault her and that the incident and its entirety lasted approximately 30 to 45 minutes. Police asked the alleged victim if Huffman said anything prior or during the time of the sexual assault and she told officers that he kept repeating that he was Jesus Christ and that he was going to save her soul.
The complaint states the alleged victim told Huffman to stop and to not hurt her multiple times, and that he left the residence after the sexual assault was over.
