Mountain State Forest Festival announces Royal Court Jesters

ELKINS — Mountain State Forest Festival Director General Lisa Shaffer has announced the selection of Royal Court Jesters Karigan Lorelle Carr, Callie James Casto, Avery Grace Fox, and Emery Ann Purdy to the Royal Court of Maid Silvia LXXXVII.

The four Randolph County students, having earned the distinction through an audition process, will have the honor of providing entertainment in the form of dance and tumbling throughout the festivities from Sept. 27 to Oct. 5.

Karigan Lorelle Carr is the daughter of Justin and Kaitlin Carr of Mill Creek. She is the granddaughter of Brian and Lorelle Kisamore of East Dailey and Mike and Crystal Carr of Mill Creek. She has one brother, Sawyer Carr, and one sister, Lily Carr.

In the fall, Karigan will be a freshman at Tygarts Valley Middle/High School. She is a member of the National Jr. Honor Society and was the sixth-grade homecoming representative. Carr is a member of the Center Stage Performing Arts Studio Elite Competition Team, where she also takes tumbling classes.

Her hobbies include camping, riding her dirt bike, dancing, listening to music, and spending time with her friends. Karigan attends Home of the Soul Family Worship.

Casto

Callie James Casto is the daughter of Dustin and Megan Casto of Elkins. She is the granddaughter of Bob and Linda Sponaugle of Elkins and Chris and Tammy Casto of Elkins. She has one sister, Everly Casto.

In the fall, Callie will be a seventh-grade student at Elkins Middle School, where she is an honor roll student and plays the clarinet in the band. Callie is a member of the Elite Competition team at Center Stage Performing Arts Studio, where she has been dancing since she was three and taking tumbling classes.

Her hobbies include pageantry, dancing, crocheting, and spending time with family and friends. Callie served as a Scepter Bearer in the 81st MSFF. Her mother, Megan, served as a Flower Girl in 1995 and a Maid of Honor in 2008 and her father, Dustin, served as a Trumpeteer from 1999-2002.

Avery Grace Fox is the daughter of Douglas and Calli Fox of Dailey. She is the granddaughter of Stephen and Vickie Posey of Buckhannon and Steve and Debbie Fox of Mill Creek. She has one brother, Jackson Fox, and one sister, Lennon Fox.

In the fall, Avery will be a sixth-grade student at Elkins Middle School. She previously attended Beverly Elementary, where she was an honor roll student and student council president. Avery has danced at Center Stage Performing Arts for seven years and been a member of the competition team for five years. She is also a member of the Tumble Time Competition Team.

Fox

In her free time, she likes to exercise, read, swim, and spend time with her family, especially her little brother and baby sister. Avery served as a Flower Girl in the 84th MSFF.

Emery Ann Purdy is the daughter of Michelle Purdy of Elkins and Gregory Purdy of Montrose. She is the granddaughter of John and Barbara Large of Glen Rock, Pennsylvania, and the late Alfred and Julie Purdy of Elkins. She has one sister, Lena Purdy.

In the fall, Emery will be a seventh-grade student at Elkins Middle School where she is on the “A” Honor Roll. She was a four-year member of the Tumble Time Gymnastics Competition Team and has been a member of Dance by Farrah for two years, where she studies tap, jazz, ballet, and hip hop.

Emery enjoys horseback riding, dog training, swimming, and spending time with friends and family.
