BUCKHANNON -- An Upshur County man faces two felony counts after allegedly selling methamphetamine to a confidential informant outside of the Fred Eberle Technical Center last fall.
Christopher Robert Taylor, 50, also known as Chris Linger, has been charged with delivery of a controlled substance and distribution of controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school, both felony charges.
Taylor is currently being held at the Tygart Valley Regional Jail on a $30,000 surety/cash bond issued by Upshur County Magistrate Mark Davis. He was booked on June 2.
According to the criminal complaint filed by Patrolman James Fisher with the Mountain Region Drug and Violent Crime Task Force, on Sept. 20, 2024, a confidential informant met with "Christopher Linger" on Morton Avenue in Buckhannon.
The confidential informant purchased three "eight balls," an eighth of an ounce or 3.54 grams, of methamphetamine from Taylor for $300, the complaint states.
The incident was audio and video recorded, and occurred "within 1,000 feet of the Fred Eberle Technical Center," according to the complaint.
A preliminary hearing for Taylor has been set for June 9 at 8:30 a.m. at the Upshur County Magistrate Court.
