MILL CREEK — Valley Health Care has announced the launch of a major campus expansion project of the health care company’s presence in Mill Creek.

Officials said the project will more than double the size of the current facility and modernize its capacity to provide comprehensive, accessible care.

The expansion will include the development of a new 15,000-square-foot state-of-the-art health center, a significant increase from the 8,000 square feet of the current clinical space, officials said.

The new facility will be built “within a reformed and repurposed commercial building recently acquired by VHC, designed to accommodate expanded primary care, integrated services and modernized infrastructure to better serve our patients,” a Valley Health Care press release states.

“For more than 35 years, Valley Health Care has been part of the fabric of Mill Creek and the surrounding communities,” said VHC CEO Jordan Godwin. “This expansion is not just about bricks and mortar — it’s about deepening our roots. It’s about ensuring that everyone in our service area has access to the care they need, when they need it, in a facility that reflects the quality and dignity of that care.”

Construction on the project officially began earlier this month, “marking a historic moment in VHC’s continued growth and investment in rural health care. Once the new facility is completed and operations are transitioned, our existing health center — approaching 30 years of service — will begin a new chapter as a dedicated behavioral health center,” the release states. “This will allow for the expansion of mental and behavioral health services, addressing critical needs in our region with added capacity, specialized providers, and a focused approach to whole-person care.”

“In total, the campus expansion will provide an estimated 23,000 square feet of medical and clinical space for our community — a long-term investment that reflects the growing health needs of the region and VHC’s mission to meet them head-on,” according to the release.

“The phrase ‘Here for Good’ captures the essence of this project: a lasting investment in the people and places we serve. With this campus expansion, VHC is securing the future of health care in Randolph County — not just for today, but for the next 30 years and beyond,” the release states.

“This project is made possible by the trust of our patients, the dedication of our staff, and the belief that rural health care is vital and worth fighting for. VHC remains committed to keeping care local, responsive, and rooted in the community values that have defined our mission for decades.”

Valley Health Care, Inc. is a federally qualified health center that provides medical and behavioral health care to patients with insurance, Medicare, and/or Medicaid, and to those without health insurance or who are underinsured through the clinic’s Care Connect Program.

VHC has health centers and full-service pharmacies in Mill Creek and Elkins, along with 11 school-based health centers.
