BUCKHANNON – An Ohio woman was killed in an ATV accident in Upshur County on July 4, police said.

Upshur County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the Mt. Nebo Road area in Upshur County on July 4 “regarding an ATV crash with injury,” a Sheriff’s Office press release states.

The victim, Patricia L. Campbell, 65, of Ravenna, Ohio, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the statement.

An investigation in the incident determined that Campbell was not wearing a helmet while riding in the ATV, the statement reads. During the accident, the ATV rolled over and ejected Campbell, officials said.

The investigation into the accident is ongoing, according to the statement.

The Upshur County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the West Virginia State Police, the Upshur County EMS, and the Ellamore Volunteer Fire Department.
