BELINGTON — A Barbour County man has been arrested and accused of sexual assault after an incident that took place in late July.

Ronald Christopher Posten, 40, of Belington, has been charged with sexual assault in the second degree, a felony. He is being held in the Central Regional Jail on a $30,000 surety/cash bond.

According to the criminal complaint, prepared by Corporal C. Parks of the Barbour County Sheriff’s Department, states that on July 27, at about 8:45 p.m., officers received a direct complaint about an alleged sexual assault that occurred in Belington. Officers made contact with the alleged victim and obtained a written statement from her.

The alleged victim was transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown for a S.A.N.E. examination, the complaint states. Injuries to her arms and knees were photographed.
