Morning fire damages Elkins house

The Inter-Mountain photo by Edgar Kelley At approximately 5:43 a.m. Wednesday, the Elkins Fire Department responded to a reported structural fire at 122 Bruce Street in Elkins. Upon arrival, crews confirmed the residence was unoccupied and secure. Assisting EFD was the Beverly Volunteer Fire Department, with a total of 18 firefighters working to contain the fire. The fire was brought under control within one hour. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. An initial investigation determined the cause of the fire to be electrical in nature.
