Va. man charged with terroristic threats in Elkins

Boley

ELKINS – A Virginia man is behind bars after a traffic stop in Elkins led to multiple felony charges.

Michael R. Boley, 43, of Winchester, Virginia, has been charged with terroristic threats, and four counts of possession with intent, all felonies. He is being held in the Tygart Valley Regional Jail on a $25,000 cash-only bond, set by Randolph County Magistrate Michael Dyer.

According to the criminal complaint, prepared by Patrolman J.H. White of the Elkins Police Department, on Saturday at about 8:53 p.m., White conducted a traffic stop on a 2010 Ford Sedan bearing a Virginia license plate after it ran over a curb and then stopped in the middle of the road on Fourth Street. The driver, Boley, said he did not have a license and that he had marijuana in the car.

Searching the vehicle, officers found a “bag of suspected fentanyl as well as a bag of suspected methamphetamine,” the complaint states. Also found were “several large jars and several sandwich bags containing a green leafy substance,” several containers of pills which Boley allegedly said were Klonopin, and a digital scale.

“During the interaction, (Boley) became irate and combative,” according to the complaint. He was transported to the Elkins Police Department for processing, where he was “combative with officers and would not comply with commands.”

Boley also allegedly said he “would come back and burn down City Hall,” the complaint states, and threatened to “harm/fight PFC D. Sayre as well as Deputy Beverly” with the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office.

Starting at $3.92/week.
