3 local people sentenced on federal drug charges

ELKINS — Three people were sentenced in federal court on Wednesday for methamphetamine possession and distribution in three local counties.

Cody Ray Robinson, 32, Emily Ann Swecker, 34, and William Charles Wilson, 40, also known as B.J. Wilson, were separately sentenced by Chief United States District Judge Thomas S. Kleeh. Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephen Warner prosecuted the cases on behalf of the government.

Robinson, of Belington, was sentenced to 120 months in federal prison for selling methamphetamine in Barbour County. He was previously convicted for drug trafficking and petit larceny.

Swecker, a Coalton resident, will spend 110 months in federal prison. Swecker, who has prior convictions for drug offenses, was selling methamphetamine in Randolph County.

Wilson, who is from Franklin, was sentenced to 51 months in federal prison for selling methamphetamine in Pendleton County. He was previously convicted of domestic battery, assault and drug offenses.

The Mountain Region Drug Task Force, the Potomac Highlands Drug Task Force, West Virginia State Police, and Pendleton County Sheriff’s Office were the investigative agencies.
