Belington Old Fashioned Days set

BELINGTON — The town of Belington’s 2025 Old Fashioned Days celebration will kick off Saturday morning, offering a car show, live music, games for the kids, food vendors and much more.

The car show will begin at 11 a.m., featuring free auto photos taken by professional photographer Tiffani Green. The car show will be presented by the Barbour County GOP. Awards will be presented at 3 p.m.

Before the car show begins, an “Anything Auto” Swap Meet will be offered at 9 a.m., featuring car and truck parts, signs, accessories, memorabilia and model cars.

A tractor show and parade will also be featured Saturday. The tractor show will run from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., with the parade at 4 p.m.

The event will be open to all tractor makes, models and years. Prizes will be provided by the Barbour County FFA.

The music festivities will actually begin tonight at Belington Town Square, where John Bolton will perform at 7 p.m.

On Saturday at 5 p.m, Susanne Mallow will perform, followed by the Lucky Devils at 7 p.m. Saturday.

Old Fashioned Days will feature a duck race on the Tygart River, beginning at 4:30 p.m. Saturday. The event will benefit the Belington Revitalization Committee (BRC) and the Animal Friends of Barbour County. Tickets can be purchased at Freedom Bank in Belington and Philippi.

An Old Timers Roundtable will be presented by Stonehaven Home at 5 p.m. Saturday at the Light of Christ Chapel. The Roundtable will consist of six Belington residents, each about 90 years old, recounting local stories and answering questions about Belington’s past. The event will be professionally recorded and edited. Organizers said their goal is to make this an annual event to create an oral history of Belington for future generations.

For Saturday’s event, vendors will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. A silent auction will take place from 12 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., with a pet show at 2:30 p.m. and a pie eating contest at 3:30 p.m. A cake walk will be offered at 6 p.m.

The celebration will also feature a sawmill demonstration, apple butter making, bounce houses for the kids, food trucks, craft vendors and kid’s games.

A Trunk of Treat Yard Sale fundraiser will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, presented by the Trunk or Treat at Audra Committee.
