IM offers Gas ‘n Grub drawing

ELKINS — The Inter-Mountain is offering the chance for two people to win $500 in gas or $500 in groceries with the new Gas n’ Grub raffle drawing, with all proceeds supporting the Newspapers in Education program.

With so much uncertainty in the current economy, including fluctuating gas prices and growing grocery costs, The Inter-Mountain is stepping up to offer $500 gift cards in gas or groceries to two lucky winners who participate in the Gas n’ Grub raffle drawing.

The promotion began on Sept. 9 and has already seen around $150 worth of tickets sold, according to The Inter-Mountain General Manager Michelle Hammonds.

Gas n’ Grub tickets are $5 each, or you can get five tickets for $20. Tickets can be purchased at The Inter-Mountain’s location at 520 Randolph Avenue in Elkins or by calling 304-636-2121.

The drawing will be held on Nov. 26 during The Inter-Mountain’s annual Wild Wednesday event. Two winners will be drawn at random from the tickets sold. Both winners will receive a call regarding their win around Monday, Dec. 1.

The first winner called will get their choice of either a gift card for $500 in gas at a local gas station or $500 in groceries at a local grocery store. The second winner called will receive whichever gift card is remaining.

All proceeds from this promotion will go towards Newspapers in Education, a program that integrates newspapers into classrooms to help students enhance literacy, grow critical thinking skills and understand real-world events on the local, national and international front.

As Hammonds explained, through Newspapers in Education, The Inter-Mountain supplies newspapers at no charge to schools within the paper’s coverage range of Randolph, Upshur, Barbour, Tucker and Pocohontas counties. Local philanthropist and President of Mike Ross, Inc.,

Mike Ross, has supported and promoted Newspapers in Education for over a decade.
