RTC offers free duel credit courses

ELKINS — Randolph Technical Center (RTC) is excited to announce a new opportunity for students to get a head start on their college education — at no cost to families.

Through a partnership with Pierpont Community & Technical College, RTC students can now earn dual credit for select courses during the 2025-2026 school year. Participating students will receive both high school credit and college credit for the same class.

Courses available for dual credit include: Business Law and Ethics, Business and Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Electrical Trades I, and Hydraulic and Pneumatic.

“This is an incredible chance for our students to build their skills, explore career paths, and start their college transcripts early,” said Mrs. Akers, RTC Counselor. “Best of all, it’s completely free for families.”

To participate, students must register and complete all necessary paperwork during the first week of school. Registration forms and releases will be sent home with all interested students, along with instructions on how to submit their Pierpont application.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to act quickly to secure a spot in the program, as timely submission of all forms is required.

For more information, please contact: Jodie Akers, RTC Counselor at 304-636-9195 ext. 106, jakers@k12.wv.us, or visit the website rtc.rand.k12.wv.us.
