Small Business Saturday set to offer deals
ELKINS — Multiple local stores and companies will be offering deals and savings tomorrow during the 2025 Small Business Saturday festivities.
Small Business Saturday celebrates the integral role of local small businesses in the city and across the country.
Founded in 2010, Small Business Saturday is considered an important part of small businesses’ busiest shopping season. The day was created to celebrate and support small businesses, as well as all they do for their communities.
Serendipity Gifts and Toys is just one of many local businesses that will be offering store-wide savings both on Black Friday and Small Business Saturday.
The locally-owned business, located on the Beverly Five Lane, has something for everyone when it comes to shopping for the family including toys, clothing, jewelry, Christmas decorations and more.
“We are having our annual 50 to 75% off Vera Bradley sale, which is always a crowd pleaser,” Serendipity owner Hope Anderson told The Inter-Mountain. “We have a lot of Vera Bradley items, including robes, throw blankets, totes, backpacks, and more. They actually have a leather line that we are doing a sale for as well.”
Customers that make a storewide purchase of $200 during the two-day sale will receive a free Vera Bradley tote. There will be a different tote available on each one of the sale days.
“We are going to be serving cider during the sales because it’s supposed to be super cold outside,” Anderson said. “We will also have little snack mixes and other things for our customers.”
Serendipity will also offer a sale on the store’s Simply Southern T-shirt line, in which customers can buy two items and get one free. Jewelry will also be on sale, including merchandise from Pandora and Kendra Scott. Pandora items will be marked down 40 to 75%, while Kendra Scott will be 25% off, including a 50% clearance area.
For more information, call Serendipity at 304-637-8900 or visit the store’s Facebook page.
Meanwhile, Elkins Motorsports will be offering big rebates and sales to customers during this year’s Small Business Saturday.
Employee Dylan Kyle, it’s “definitely a good time” to buy from Elkins Motorsports this Small Business Saturday.
“We try to treat our community as best as we possibly can,” Kyle told The Inter-Mountain.
First opening its doors in 1986, Elkins Motorsports is a veteran-owned business that offers on-road and off-road vehicles from original equipment manufacturers (OEM) Can-Am, Polaris, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Beta, SSR, Kayo and Aluma. The store also has a huge selection of OEM and aftermarket parts and accessories.
For specific vehicles, OEM’s Can-Am and Polaris are both offering 0% interest for up to 60 months. For those who want to purchase a used model, Polaris is offering an additional six month warranty.
“That way, you know, if you buy your kids an ATV for Christmas, that warranty doesn’t run out before they get to ride it,” Kyle said.
Elkins Motorsports will be open Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
“We wish everyone here in the community a happy holidays,” Kyle said.
In downtown Elkins, Counter Culture Concepts will be celebrating its 15th anniversary with a community-wide event on Small Business Saturday.
The store, which is located on 114 Third Street, has long been known for its welcoming atmosphere and support of gaming, collectibles and creative hobbies. Activities are planned throughout the day, with the celebration scheduled to run from noon to 6 p.m.
Families can enjoy a special visit with Santa from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Cake and refreshments will be offered throughout the event and prize drawings will be held every half-hour.
There will also be a coloring contest from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., and a free-to-enter MTG Commander Tournament beginning at 3 p.m.
“Fifteen years is a real achievement and a testament to our dedication to the hobby and the incredible support we’ve received from the community,” owner Ben Simmons told The Inter-Mountain. “We’re deeply grateful for everyone who has walked through our doors, played a game, shared a laugh, or supported us along the way.”
