ELKINS — A local composer and her collaborators will hold a free at the Randolph County Community Arts Center this Saturday, while asking for goods and toy donations for the holiday season.

Elkins native Stacy Blanzy, along with mother-daughter duo Magali Oliveira and Audrey Hunt from Charleston, will perform original compositions in a Christmas cantata at the Randolph County Community Arts Center on Dec. 20. A children’s choir will also be performing in the choir and instrumental ensemble.

The cantata will begin at 6 p.m. on Saturday. While there is no cost to attend the cantata, the trio is asking for donations of non-perishable goods or toys to donate to charity. A donation box will be set up at the concert. 

Blanzy, Hunt and Oliveira form the group Two Little Fish, a contemporary Christian band. The trio have all performed and composed together for nearly a decade. Two Little Fish song-writes and performs using a mix of vocals, guitars, keyboards, percussion, violin and cello. Their originally-written cantata will focus on the biblical Christmas story.

“Rooted in their Christian experiences, Two Little Fish infuse their music with a spiritual depth that adds a profound layer to their art,” The group’s website states. “The lyrics are not just words but reflections of a journey anchored in faith, providing listeners with a profound connection to something greater than themselves.”

Blanzy, who was born and raised in Elkins, received her musical education at Highland Adventist School, Two Little Fish said in their release. She currently teaches at Highland Adventist School. Blanzy will be playing the cello, singing as one the soloists and leading the children’s choir during Saturday’s cantata.

Audrey and Magali are both professionally trained musicians who have done music together for many years, Two Little Fish said in their release.
