ELKINS — A general manager has been selected for the Railyard Event & Conference Center, currently under construction.

Taylor Hospitality Management has announced that Shane Jones will be the inaugural General Manager of the Center, which is set to open later this year.

Jones, who is currently general manager of the Tygart Hotel in Elkins, will continue to serve in that capacity, assuming dual leadership roles at both the hotel and the Event Center, a 28,000 square-foot, $11.6 million facility being constructed behind the Elkins Railyard Depot.

“I am incredibly honored and excited to step into this additional role of general manager of the Railyard Event Center,” Jones said. “This space represents a new chapter for Elkins and for our region’s ability to host extraordinary events.

“I look forward to welcoming guests from near and far to experience this beautiful conference center and theater,” he said. “The Railyard will truly transform what’s possible for events in our community, and I can’t wait to showcase just how unexpectedly cool Elkins truly is.”

The facility will feature a modern conference center, performance theatre, and flexible event spaces capable of hosting corporate meetings, community gatherings, and touring productions.

The Center is positioned as a standalone venue designed to expand the region’s ability to host conferences, performances and events, officials said.
