PARSONS — The Tucker Community Foundation is proud to announce the creation of the Mary L. Davis Memorial Scholarship Fund.

The new Mary L. Davis Memorial Scholarship will be used to provide a scholarship to deserving Randolph County Students that will be attending either a traditional four-year college or a technical/trade school.

The Mary L. Davis Memorial Scholarship was created with the generous donation and support of Joseph Davis, the son of Mary L. Davis.

The Mary L. Davis Memorial Scholarship was established to honor the life and legacy of an extraordinary educator, mother, and grandmother whose heart for children shaped generations of students.

This scholarship provides an annual $1,000 award to support students who reflect her love of learning, kindness, and commitment to others.

Davis

Mary L. Davis taught second grade at Third Ward Elementary School for over 40 years, pouring her time, energy, and love into her classroom.

Even after she retired, her devotion to her students brought her back as a substitute teacher for five more years. She volunteered weekly and read stories to pre-k through second grade students.

She was known for treating every child as if they were her own, making each student feel seen, valued, and capable of success. Outside the classroom, she cherished her five grandchildren, who were the joy of her life.

This scholarship was created to continue Mary’s legacy by investing in students who share her values and her belief in the poser of education.

It is intended for students who demonstrate a commitment to learning, a heart for helping others, and desire to give back to their communities-especially those who hope to work with children or pursue careers in education.

Through this annual scholarship, Mary’s dedication to her students will live on in the lives and futures of the scholars who follow in her footsteps.
