High Wind Warning in effect for Randolph, Pocahontas

ELKINS – A High Wind Warning is in effect until 8 p.m. tonight for parts of Randolph and Pocahontas counties.

“Southwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 55 mph (are) expected,” the Warning, from the National Weather Service, states. The Warning went into effect at 8 a.m. this morning.

“Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles,” the Warning states.

The severity of the Warning is listed as “Severe,” meaning “a significant threat to life or property.”
