Severe Weather Alert issued for Randolph County
ELKINS – The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Weather Alert for Northwest Randolph County Wednesday afternoon.
“Gusty winds of 35 to 40 mph are expected this afternoon, with isolated gusts in excess of 45 mph possible,” the Alert, which was issued Wednesday afternoon, states. “Higher wind gusts could occur within thunderstorms.
“These gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects,” the Alert reads. “Use extra caution when driving this afternoon, especially if operating a high profile vehicle.”
The Alert’s severity is listed as “moderate,” meaning “possible threat to life or property.”
