‘Aloha Elkins’ First Friday event set
ELKINS – Historic downtown Elkins will be celebrating with a tropical theme Friday afternoon and evening.
The Aloha Elkins-Randolph County First Friday event will kick off downtown at 4 p.m., offering participants the opportunity to sip, stroll, shop and dine island-style in downtown Elkins Friday.
The event is designed to create tropical vibes, and participating restaurants will offer sample sizes, so you can taste your way through downtown while experiencing live music performances.
Organizers are planning a family-friendly, high-energy event with community vibes. Participants are encouraged to wear your florals and bring your friends.
Revelers can kick off the night at Tricketts, located at 209 Davis Avenue, with a live performance by Nat Frederick, a talented singer, songwriter, and storyteller bringing the perfect First Friday energy.
Elkins Sewing Center, at 300 Davis Avenue, is hosting Open Sew during First Friday. Bring a project, start something new, or just enjoy a relaxed, creative space with fellow makers. All skill levels are welcome. A crafter from Weston will also be set up outside the store front.
Clementine’s Cantina, at 122 Davis Avenue, will offer live music with Tiki Hut Dan, performing a Jimmy Buffet-inspired set from 6-8 p.m. Free leis will be offered with supplies last, and if you wear a Hawaiian shirt you can get free chips.
Beander’s Restaurant and Tavern, at 314 Davis Avenue, will offer pina coladas (you can keep the glass and sunglasses) and other tropical drinks. A free lei will be available with specials.
At 5:30 p.m., “Sunsets & Salutations” Yoga will be offered in The Atrium at Seneca Mall by Dreaming Tree Healing Arts.
Bambino’s Bistro, at 1221 3rd Street, will offer Hawaiian pizza samples.
Las Trancas Elkins, located at 25 Randolph Avenue, will offer tropical-themed drinks and food.
3rd Street Tattoo, located at 115 3rd Street, will offer $10 off permanent jewelry.
Ceramics with Class, at 203 Davis Avenue, will have an Open Paint Night – fun for all ages!
Lukestone Legacy, at 220 Davis Avenue, will offer tropical drinks, Hawaiian mac salad and pineapple pulled pork.
Artists At Work, located at 329 Davis Avenue, will also participate in the community event, as will the Oxley House Cocktail Bar & Restaurant, at 206 Davis Avenue, and A’La Board Plates & Platters.
Also taking part will be Rovira Studio at 306 Railroad Avenue, Big Timber Brewing at 2 Davis Avenue, and Rosalie Haizlett Illustration at 212 Davis Avenue.
The event is being organized by Vibrant Elkins, the Elkins Randolph Chamber of Commerce, and Our Town.
