ELKINS — The Randolph-Tucker County Master Gardener Association recently kicked off its spring events and announced that more activities are planned for the region in the upcoming months.
The organization has started a Seed Bank at the Elkins Randolph County Public Library, where community members can pick up free seeds, or make a seed donation at that location.
Those planning on collecting or donating seeds are asked to check in at the front desk upon their arrival at the Elkins Library, which is located on 209 Randolph Avenue.
Those donating seeds will be asked to complete a form, as a record will be kept of those making a donation. Seeds that are donated will be divided into two categories, annual, perennial and vegetable, or West Virginia native seeds.
The Randolph County Public Library is open on weekdays, Monday and Tuesday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Members of the community are invited to take advantage of seed opportunities.
