ELKINS — The downtown business community in Elkins recently welcomed Dreaming Tree Healing Arts with an open house and ribbon cutting ceremony at its location on Second Street.

The business, which offers massage therapy, yoga and dance classes, is located in the old H&R Block office. Close to 50 people came out for the ceremony that featured giveaway prizes, food from local chefs and a belly dance mini-class.

Dreaming Tree Healing Arts was founded in 2024 by Sarah Craig, a licensed massage therapist and Ayurvedic lifestyle consultant who owns and operates the facility.

Craig brings more than 20 years of experience to her practice, having worked as a massage therapist in Virginia, Maryland and Delaware before moving to Elkins in 2023. She uses a variety of modalities; in addition to traditional Swedish and deep tissue, she is trained in energy work, reflexology, aromatherapy, Ayurvedic, Thai and Trager techniques. 

“We are thrilled by the support from the Elkins community,” Craig said. “It has been a joy to connect with so many people already and complement their healing journeys through massage and movement. We look forward to expanding our offerings to continue meeting our clients’ needs.”

Dreaming Tree Healing Arts, which is committed to providing affordable therapeutic services and integrated movement classes in a professional, welcoming space, also features Mountain Shimmy’s Cindy Marie Martin, who is a yoga instructor, choreographer and dancer trained in Egyptian-style belly dance.

Martin offers weekly all-levels adult yoga classes in vinyasa, chair yoga, restorative, and Yin styles, as well as a monthly belly dance series.

Dreaming Tree Healing Arts has partnered with the Elkins-Randolph County Chamber of Commerce and is part of a vibrant network of small businesses committed to local growth and economic development.
