RTC students bring home medals

The Randolph Technical Center is proud to announce the exceptional performance of its student delegation at the 2026 SkillsUSA West Virginia State Leadership and Skills Conference recently held in Fairmont. Representing the pinnacle of career and technical excellence in Randolph County, 26 students participated in 19 distinct competitive categories, testing their specialized knowledge against the highest standards in the state.
The delegation secured multiple top-tier finishes, led by several gold medalists who have earned the distinction of representing West Virginia at the national level.
Jonathan S. claimed the gold medal in Cabinetmaking, while Juliann H. took top honors with a gold medal in Prepared Speech.

The center also dominated the emerging field of Commercial UAS Drone Technology, where the team of Blake S. and Briar H. secured the gold medal, and the team of Abigail R. and Eliott T. earned a bronze medal finish.
RTC students also demonstrated high-level proficiency in industrial and automotive sectors. James L. earned a silver medal in Carpentry, and Robbie G. secured silver in Power Equipment Technology. In the automotive categories, Keisha C. was awarded a bronze medal in Collision Repair, Blake R. earned bronze in Collision Damage Appraisal, and Ethan M. took home a bronze medal in Motorcycle Service Technology.

These achievements highlight the rigorous training and technical discipline fostered within the Randolph Technical Center. By excelling in these industry-validated competitions, these students have proven they possess the professional skills necessary to bolster the local economy and lead the next generation of the Randolph County workforce.
Gold medalists will now begin preparations for the National Leadership and Skills Conference held this June in Atlanta, Georgia.
