Two Days of Celebration Coming to Elkins: Tygart Together & Ramps & Rail Festival

Elkins is gearing up for a full weekend of community celebration, live entertainment, and Appalachian tradition as two exciting events bring energy and activity to downtown on April 24-25.

The festivities begin on Friday, April 24, with Tygart Together: A Celebration of Community Growth, hosted by Tygart Hotel in honor of its second anniversary. Taking place along Davis Avenue from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM, this community block party invites residents and visitors alike to come together for an evening of music, food, and family-friendly fun.

The event will kick off at 5:00 PM with a Children’s Festival, running through 8:00 PM, featuring interactive games, inflatables, and activities hosted by local organizations including Davis Trust Company, Third Street Rentals, and The Refinery Church. Families can enjoy a lively and welcoming atmosphere designed for all ages, while also connecting with community partners and local vendors.

Tygart Hotel extends a heartfelt thank you to the sponsors who have made this event possible, including Woodlands Development and Lending, Elkins-Randolph County Tourism CVB, Mountain Table, Northern Eagle Inc., Third Street Rentals, Davis Trust Company, Virginia Community Development Corporation, The Old Brick Playhouse, Performance Chevrolet, and The Refinery Church. Their generous support plays a vital role in bringing this celebration to life and creating an unforgettable experience for the community.

Throughout the evening, guests are encouraged to “Eat on the Streets” and explore a variety of local food offerings along Davis Avenue. For guests 21 and over, a Beer, Wine & Cocktail Garden will be open from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM providing a relaxed space to enjoy handcrafted drinks while taking in the festivities.

Live music will set the tone for the evening, featuring a diverse lineup of talented performers:

5:00-6:30 PM — Crandall Creek (Bluegrass)

7:00-8:30 PM — Corey Hager (Country)

9:00-11:00 PM — Juice Newsome & The Groove (Funk/Soul)

From traditional mountain sounds to high-energy funk and soul, the entertainment lineup offers something for everyone and highlights both regional and local talent.

The celebration continues into the weekend with the 16th Annual Ramps & Rail Festival on Saturday, April 25, from 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM beloved Elkins tradition that celebrates Appalachian heritage and the arrival of spring.

Held at the Elkins Town Square and Railroad Avenue, the Ramps & Rail Festival brings together local artisans, food vendors, and live entertainment, all centered around the region’s iconic wild ramps. Visitors can sample a variety of ramp-inspired dishes, browse handcrafted goods, and enjoy live music and cultural demonstrations throughout the day.

In addition to the festival atmosphere, the event also highlights Elkins’ rich railroad history, offering a unique blend of heritage, flavor, and community pride that draws visitors from across the region each year.

Together, these two events create a full weekend of activities that showcase the best of Elkins — from its growing downtown and vibrant hospitality scene to its deep-rooted Appalachian traditions.

Residents and visitors are encouraged to make a weekend of it: start with the Tygart Together block party on Friday evening, and return downtown on Saturday to experience the Ramps & Rail Festival.

With live music, local flavor, and community spirit at the heart of both events, this two-day celebration offers a perfect opportunity to gather, explore, and enjoy everything Elkins has to offer.
