11 indicted by Barbour Grand Jury
PHILIPPI — A Barbour County grand jury returned indictments of 11 individuals on Tuesday, for charges including DUI causing death and forgery.
Chadley Russell Claypool, 40, of Harrison County, was indicted on DUI causing death; possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver (Methamphetamine); possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver (Fentanyl); conspiracy; and driving revoked for DUI first offense, all felonies.
Claypool was arrested after methamphetamine and fentanyl were allegedly found in a vehicle involved in a fatal accident that killed Barbour County resident Tiffany Hillery in December. Police were reportedly advised that Claypool and Hillery were en route to “deliver the controlled substances to an individual located in Harrison County.”
Ranee Lynn Tinney, 52, was indicted on three counts of forgery and three counts of uttering, both felonies. Tinney was also indicted on financial exploitation of an elderly person, a misdemeanor.
Tinney was arrested in January after allegedly taking more than $20,000 from an elderly person’s bank account without permission over the span of 14 months.
Jerry Lee Bennett Jr., 37, was indicted on receiving or transferring stolen goods, a felony.
Travis Edward Barkley, 28, was indicted on failure to appear, a felony.
Kelly Jean Channell, 54, was indicted on prohibited person in possession of a firearm, a felony.
Velair Von Collins, II, 54, was indicted on driving revoked for DUI third offense, a felony. Collins was also indicted for DUI, a misdemeanor.
Robert Marlin Conner, 37, was indicted on wanton endangerment and use or presentation of a firearm, both felonies.
Benjamin Aaron Daugherty, 52, was indicted on domestic battery-third offense and unlawful restraint-third offense, both felonies.
Jason Andrew Greenlief, 47, was indicted on fleeing in a vehicle while under the influence, a felony. Greenlief is also indicted on driving suspended or revoked; no insurance; improper use of evidences of registration; and obstructing an officer, all misdemeanors.
Sarah Noel McCullough, 38, was indicted on burglary, grand larceny and conspiracy, all felonies.
Richard Wayne Weaver, 51, was indicted on receiving or transferring stolen goods, a felony. Weaver was also indicted on no insurance; operations of vehicles without evidence of registration; and driving suspended or revoked for non-DUI third offense, all misdemeanors.
A press release from the Barbour County Prosecutor’s Office from May 26 states that “all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.”
